Actor and Pilipinas Got Talent Judge Robin Padilla is known for his patriotism, however, he was called a racist for forcing a Korean contestant to speak Filipino on national television.
On January 13, episodes of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 6, Kim Jiwan, a South Korean, audition for the show and was forced to speak tagalog by the actor.
Kim introduced himself as a magician and declared, “I’m Korean but Filipino by heart. I grew up in the Philippines and I met a special someone and that makes me more Filipino.”
Then Jiwan asked the actor if he could use him for his act but Robin declined and said, “I’m very sorry, you cannot use me. Can you see that? Firstly, mag-Tagalog ka muna bago mo ako kausapin.”
His co-host Angel Locsin came to help Jiwan on how to ask for help in Filipino but Kim continued, “Can you please put your hand like this?”
Robin looked irritated, saying, “Tagalog nga, e. “Hijo, Pilipinas Got Talent. Pilipinas Got Talent. Mag-Tagalog ka, hijo.”

The said episode earned the anger of netizen and posted their sentiments on social media calling Padilla rude, racist and insensitive to the Korean contestant.
Apparently, in an interview, Robin said that he didn’t regret what he said to the Korean he explained that he was living in the Philippines for 10 years and the contestant said he grew up here. What he did is just a fatherly advice.
Padilla also said that if Kim really loves the Philippines he should make an effort to learn tagalog.
Despite the negative reaction of netizens on the episode, Robin respects it and said that they are free to choose if they going to defend and sacrifice their lives for the Korean contestant.
Padilla said.
And before the interview ends, Robin made a finger heart gesture that made everyone burst into laughter.
